Who and What is Audience Rewards?
Audience Rewards is the Official Rewards Program of Broadway and is owned by a group of the largest venue owners and presenters in the theatre industry including The Shubert Organization/Telecharge, Nederlander Productions, Jujamcyn Theatricals, and 12 major performing arts centers and presenters from around the United States. As a partner of United MileagePlus, the program brings together many of the key players in theatre to offer MileagePlus members the ability to use their miles for tickets and other theatre services both on Broadway and in a growing number of cities around the country.
Why do I need to register my United MileagePlus number with a free Audience Rewards number/account when I use miles for tickets on the United MileagePlus Broadway Page?
Broadway shows can sometimes end with short notice. Your Audience Rewards account lets us know how to contact you in the event of a change in performance dates to either re-book you for another show or refund your money. It also allows us to integrate into the multiple ticketing systems used on Broadway. On your first redemption, you will be asked to register your United Mileage Plus number with a free Audience Rewards account. The only information required is your name, email, and MileagePlus number.
When I log into My United Mileage Plus account from the Broadway page, does Audience Rewards store my PIN and other information?
No. When you log into your United MileagePlus account from the Broadway page, you will automatically be redirected to a page hosted on United.com. The only information provided by United MileagePlus to Audience Rewards when you log in is your mileage balance to verify your eligibility for awards. Your PIN is not captured or stored by Audience Rewards and is entered and communicated on the MileagePlus program website via secure and encrypted internet protocols.
Do I need to remember my Audience Rewards number?
Keeping track of your MileagePlus and reward program numbers is always challenging. To make life easier, each time you log into your United MileagePlus account from the Broadway page, your Audience Rewards number will be automatically populated for your convenience. If you are unable to find your number or if the system does not automatically provide it to you, contact 866-313-9635 for further assistance.
Can I return my seats after I make my purchase?
Unfortunately not. All theatre ticket purchases are always final.
Why can't I see the exact seats I will be getting when I buy certain tickets on the United Mileage Plus Broadway site?
Certain tickets and special offers are booked using different systems or for select inventory allotments and your seats will be assigned after purchase. For some limited time special redemption awards, general seating area locations will be provided. In cases where that information is not provided, you will typically be assigned the best available seats in the orchestra or front mezzanine seating sections. Since most Broadway and Off-Broadway theatres are small (under 1,200 seats) and not giant concert venues, all seats are generally considered very good. Your exact seat locations will be emailed to you shortly after you complete your purchase. If purchased during the regular work week, your seats will be assigned within 24 hours of purchase. Any tickets purchased during a holiday period or weekend will begin being assigned on the next regular business.
How are tickets delivered?
Tickets will be at will-call under the MileagePlus member’s name unless an alternate recipient is provided by the member at the time of redemption.
What happens if the show I purchased ends before I see it?
Most shows on Broadway have an open ended run meaning that they run for an unspecified period of time. In the unfortunate event that a show decides to end its run and you have purchased a ticket or used miles for a ticket to that show, you will be notified by email or phone by a member of the Audience Rewards concierge staff who will try to book you into a comparable show or work with United MileagePlus to refund your miles.
What is the difference between a Broadway Show, an Off-Broadway Show, and a Touring Show?
A Broadway Show refers to theatrical performances presented in one of the 40 large professional theaters with 500 seats or more located in the Theatre District, in Manhattan, New York City.
An "Off Broadway" show refers to professional plays, musicals or revues performed in New York City, in a venue with a seating capacity between 99 and 500 that uses Actors' Equity Performers.
A "Touring Show" refers to a National Broadway Tour that is performed outside of New York City using Actors' Equity Performers or regional theatres and performances that may or may not use equity performers.
Earning miles for Ticket Purchases
How many miles do I earn in the MileagePlus program when I purchase tickets?
At a minimum, MileagePlus members who register for Audience Rewards will earn the following mileage incentives:
-100 miles for each ticket purchased to a participating Broadway Show
-50 miles for each ticket purchased to a participating Off-Broadway Show
-50 miles for each ticket purchased to a participating Touring Show
Please remember, in order to earn your miles you must register your MileagePlus number with Audience Rewards on the United MileagePlus Broadway webpage and then enter the Audience Rewards number at the time of purchase.
What shows are participating in Audience Rewards and issuing miles in the miles in the program?
The majority of popular Broadway shows are currently participating in Audience Rewards. In addition, new venues, Off-Broadway, and touring shows are continuously joining the program. Since live art and theatre changes every week, as shows and performances end and new ones are announced, Audience Rewards is a truly dynamic rewards program. What if I want to see a show that is not listed on the MileagePlus Broadway website? Will I earn miles for my purchase?
Unfortunately not. Miles can only be awarded for tickets purchased to a participating show in the program.
Is there a limit to how many show tickets I can earn miles on in the program?
Yes. Audience Rewards is designed for individuals and not organizations or large groups. Participants can earn MileagePlus miles for up to 16 tickets per participating show while it is performing at a given venue in a calendar year.
Are there other promotional bonuses available for me to earn more miles in the MileagePlus program?
Yes. Audience Rewards is always working with its participating shows to create special offers and bonuses. Some bonuses can reach as high as 2,500 miles per ticket. Special bonuses are frequently available for purchases that involve buying premium seats, certain days of the week and preview. What other types of live entertainment can I earn miles for in addition to theatre?
Audience Rewards is working with a number of concert promoters, ballets, orchestras, symphonies and operas to expand the live art you will be able to earn miles for attending. We are even in discussion with major museums.
How do I register my MileagePlus number and earn miles for purchasing tickets?
Registering your MileagePlus number is easy and takes seconds. On the United - Broadway page, there are prompts and links that let you add your MileagePlus number to an existing Audience Rewards account you may have or set up a new Audience Rewards account and then add your number. Once you register, you are done and you can use your Audience Rewards number at any participating show or venue to earn your MileagePlus miles.
Where do I enter my Audience Rewards number when Buying a Ticket?
Once you have registered your MileagePlus number with your Audience Rewards account, you are ready to earn mile incentives to participating shows. Go to the United - Broadway page and follow the buy links to purchase the tickets you want. You will be prompted to enter your Audience Rewards member during the transaction. If you can't remember your number, there are links on the webpage and next to where you enter your number to look it up. If you are not prompted to enter your number during the transaction process (either before or after you enter your credit card) it means the show is not participating in Audience Rewards.
Will I see the miles for an eligible ticket purchase in my United MileagePlus account before the performance takes place?
Unfortunately not. You will only be able to see this purchase in your MileagePlus account after you have seen the show.
Can I retroactively earn miles for tickets purchased if I did not enter an Audience Rewards number into the ticketing system at the time of purchase?
Since the Audience Rewards program is tied into many independent producers and producing offices, they require that members enter Audience Rewards number at the time of purchase. Mile incentives are not available retroactively.
Redeeming miles for Tickets
Who is eligible to use miles from the MileagePlus program for Broadway tickets?
Only MileagePlus members with a MileagePlus account address in the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia), Puerto Rico and Guam and who have had account activity in their account in the prior 12 months are eligible to use miles for Broadway tickets. All MileagePlus program rules apply.
How do I find my mileage balance?
Simply log in to your MileagePlus account in the upper left hand corner of the Broadway site to view the total miles balance you have available for redemption.
Are there special awards for Premier® members?
Premier members of the MileagePlus program are eligible for preferred pricing and in some cases exclusive redemption opportunities. Simply log in to your MileagePlus account in the upper left hand corner of the Broadway site to see a full listing of the awards available to you for redemption.
Can I use miles for tickets for family and friends?
Yes, you can make redemption for family and friends. On the Order Information page you can check the box next to ‘The tickets are for someone other than myself.’ and complete the recipient's information.
Can I use other discounts or coupons with this offer?
No. Using miles for tickets is not valid in conjunction with any other offer, discounts, or promotions.
